 Esbozo biográfico

Adriana Hernández
Muñoz (Deva Celeste),
Poeta-Escritora-Intérprete, nació en Bello (Antioquia),
Colombia. Adriana realizó estudios de Comunicación Social en la
Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia; tomó Cursos de Poesía y
Literatura en la Universidad de Antioquia; y de Teatro y
Televisión en la Academia Culturartes de Medellín. Recibió
reconocimiento del Ministerio de Educación Nacional de Colombia
en Artes y Declamación, y fue distinguida por la Universidad
Cooperativa de Colombia, con el título de “Doctor Honoris Causa”
en Comunicación Social.

En el Dominical
del periódico “El Colombiano” de Medellín, tuvo la oportunidad
de escribir sobre los poetas que interpretó, en su columna de
poesía titulada: "La Poesía de Siempre".

En sus cuatro
trabajos discográficos, siempre ha incluido obras de los poetas
contemporáneos, pues desea matizar su obra con el tiempo, además
porque es conciente de que el intérprete debe acercarse a todos
los estilos y obras.

Adriana
está residiendo en los Estados Unidos desde el 2000, en donde a
participado en numerosos programas culturales y presentaciones
realizados en los estados de New York y New Jersey, y en las
ciudades de Washington, DC y en Miami.

Los poemas
interpretados por Adriana, han sido presentados en varios
programas de TV de la Ciudad de New York. En la Antología “The
Colors of Life” su poema One Second, Listen, Soto Voce, fue
incluido en una publicación realizada en el año 2003 por la
Librería de Poesía de los Estados Unidos de América. Su
biografía está incluida en el libro “Who’sWho in América 2004”
de MARQUIS Who’sWho. Además, es miembro de la Organización de
Actores Latinoamericanos “HOLA” y del Círculo de Cultura
Panamericano. Adriana realizo un programa de Televisión
“Poesía Bajo las Estrellas” en un canal educativo de New York,
HITN.

Adriana
es la autora del libro de poesías titulado “Esperando Abril”,
que fue publicado en Abril del 2006 por la Universidad
Cooperativa de Colombia, en Medellín. El Prólogo del libro fue
escrito por el Dr. Belisario Betancur, ex -Presidente de
Colombia. “Esperando Abril” fue presentado en la Feria del Libro
de New York en Junio del 2006, como también en varias librerías
de New York, y en el Consulado General de Colombia en la misma
ciudad, en Noviembre del 2006.

- “Premios Colombia USA 2006”
le otorgó un reconocimiento por su labor cultural y por realzar
la cultura colombiana en el exterior, como también el Comité del
Desfile de la Hispanidad de New York,

Este año (2007)
fue reconocida como artista destacada de New Jersey con “Premios
Arte”, y el Alcalde de Union City, NJ Brian P. Stack,
reconoció su trabajo artístico con una Proclama que le fue
entregada el 20 de Julio, día de las fiestas patrias
colombianas. Presento la obra teatral “San Salvador Después del
Eclipse” del ensayista salvadoreño Carlos Vélis, y bajo la
dirección del dramaturgo Elmer Salmerón, el 17 de Noviembre en
el Teatro IATI de New York, fue su estreno, y posteriormente
esta obra fue presentada en El Grace Theatre Workshop, Inc, y
continuara presentandose en el verano en NY.

En la actualidad
Adriana se encuentra dedicada a la preparación de tres
nuevas obras de temas infantiles, amorosos y poemas sobre la
muerte. También está preparándose para comenzar el 22 Abril a
presentar “I found my shadow” (Encontré mi sombra) obra basada
en Peter Pan de James M. Berrie, bajo la dirección de Peter A.
Dubo. Como tambien continua interpretando poesia propia y de
poetas de Hispanoamérica, el 12 de Abril estara en el Hotel
Hilton Newark Airport, Elizabeth, NJ y el 9 de mayo la
escucharemos en el Hunter Collage, Manhattan, NY.

Adriana Hernández (Deva Celeste), was born in Bello (Antioquia),
Colombia. She studied Social Communications at the Colombian
Cooperative University in Medellin; Poetry and Literature at the
University of Antioquia; Theater and Television Arts at the
Culturartes Academy. She also holds a Certificate in Performing
Arts from the Ministry of Education of Colombia, and has
recently been granted a “Doctor Honoris Causa” Degree from the
Colombian Cooperative University of Medellin.

Adriana was a journalist at “El Colombiano” newspaper in
Medellín for several years, where she published a Column
entitled “Poetry for All Times”.

Her first recording of poetry with musical background, includes
fourteen compositions of well known Colombian, Spanish and Latin
American poets and composers. Her second recording, is a poetry
album containing three CDs of classic and modern poetry, and of
tangos and boleros, composed by leading Latin American and
Spanish poets and composers.

Since coming to the United States in 2000, Adriana has
participated in several cultural events and presentations,
conducted in New York and New Jersey, Washington, DC and Miami,
in which she has had a leading part.

Adriana has participated in several TV Programs in New York
City, where she has presented her poetry. Her poem “One Second,
Listen, Soto Voce” was published in “The Colors of Life
Anthology”. Her biography appears in Who’sWho in America 2004”
by MARQUIS Who’sWho. She is a member of the Latin American
Association of Actors “HOLA”, and of the Pan American Cultural
Center. Adriana also recorded a TV Program “Poetry Under the
Stars” for Educational TV Channel HITN in New York.

Last year, Adriana was selected by “Premios Colombia USA 2006”
as the artist of the year for her cultural achievements and for
enhancing Colombia’s cultural heritage overseas. She was also
presented a Certificate of Recognition for her cultural
achievements by the “Desfile de la Hispanidad” of New York.
Recently, she was selected as one of the leading cultural
figures in New Jersey, and was awarded “Premios de Arte”
Certificate by the Mayor of Union City, Brian P. Stack,
presented to her on July 20, 2007 the anniversary of Colombia’s
independence.

At the present time Adriana is involved in the preparation of a
children’s book of poems. She is also part of the cast of a new
play which will open in New York City this year, entitled: “San
Salvador After the Eclipse” by Salvadorian writer Carlos Veliz,
and directed by dramatist Elmer Salmeron.
